Lost In The Mist
Somewhere in this misty life is a clearing place of restWhere I can seek to find the something that is my best.
I search for the lighthouse that beacons me toward home
A light that shines through the murkiness of a life that's gone wrong.
I've stumble over rocks and thorns in places I shouldn't be
Trying to erect a life for one that is simply not meant for me.
Each time I take a step, I wonder, "is this the way to go."
With no candle, torch, or flame, I am lost and just don't know.
I am blind in my quest to find my way without compass or guide
Foolish in my journey without the Savior walking by my side.
I am the one that does not see for He knows which way is right.
I will place my hand in His and He will lead me through the night.
Though this mist may surround me and cover me in its shroud
I will hear his voice calling the way whether whispered or out loud.
He shall lead me to this quiet place, a place of peace and care
A place where He, who rescues me, tenderly leads me there.
As I lay my head upon his lap, he strokes my head and smiles.
"I have watched you child stumble and fall, I have been with you each mile."
"But why did you let it be?" I asked, "I was scared and in pain."
He said, "To recognize the sun, child, you must endure the rain."
