Some poetry on Greek mythology.

Medusa

Her name was Medusa, an incredible beauty.

Avowed Priestess of the Goddess Athena.

She stayed chaste, with a promise of celibacy,

until she was seduced by the King of the sea.

She consorted with Poseidon and made Athena see red.

Athena punished her by growing snakes from her head.

She took away her beauty and made her a gorgon.

Monstrous sisters you couldn't brag on.

When you look in her eyes, it's not love that you see,

she'll turn you to stone, quiet easily.

All the other gorgon's were very immortal,

except for Medusa, she missed that portal.

One fine day, three God's of the Greeks,
gave Perseus three pieces of weaponry.
A shield, a sword, and shoes with wings,
Told him to kill her by using these things.

The three sisters slept, in the dark of the night,

completely oblivious to their perilous plight.

With Athena's shield, he blocked the gorgon's sight.
Turned HER into stone, then in one mighty swoop,
chopped off her head with the sword made by Zeus.
