Spaced Out
Sitting at the desk in my study,
staring at a faraway galaxy
on my computer screen,
chewing a pear,
I suddenly see myself
as the primate I am,
jaws grinding away,
teeth sinking into the fruit,
the juice flooding my oral cavity
and I sense Evolution
grabbing my neck,
rubbing my mind
in the mystery of it all
until I get all dirtied
with scientific philosophies
