A Laughing Samurai
A violent gust suddenly explodes
out of the garden,
lifting the death wish off of my lifeline
like a soaking sheet off the clothes line,
transforming it into a flowing pirate flag,
away over the dark forests,
troubles suddenly just dots of ink
on a document
in somebody's orderliness;
the wind a laughing samurai,
cutting through all pain,
leaving the night to its cautious love-making
