Tender Mercies
Tender mercies follow me as through this life I travel
I wander through the lonely paths and stumble through the bramble
But during all the while I walk; I talk with you each mile
You whisper through the voices in the wind and offer me your smile
I see your smile upon the face of babies in their mother's care
I see your smile in the old folks who rest in their rocking chairs
I hear you whisper quietly to me through the gentle bubbling stream
I hear your voice clap in thunderous bellows as you write my name
Across the skies in bold white golden letters ablaze with your finger
I wonder why you care so much for me as in my meditation I linger
Your every action and thought you have is for my eternal soul
How do I understand this love that is far beyond what I could know?
So, as I live this life of mine, I only hope to leave a trail
Of a bit of you in each one I meet as over life's oceans I sail.
Please help me Lord to shine as you have polished this vessel I wear
To reflect the tender mercies that you bestowed on me with care.
