GUNSLINGERS

So they faced one another,
Under the midday sun.
Two gunslingers from old,
Both with notches on their guns.
Neither one batting an eye,
Either one wishing to die.

How it came to this,
Neither knew why.
This was the day,
Someone would die.

They both drew down,
As the townfolk cowered.
Two mighty gunslingers,
Took aim and fired.

In unison there mark was hit,
Both hats hit the dirt.
They holstered there guns,
With neither a word.

Putting their hats,
back on there heads.
Running there hands,
round the rim's.
Nothing was said,
No blood was spilled.
Just a wastage of lead.

Even though both of them tried,
Today was the day, Nobody died.
So they climbed on there horse's;
Then went there separate ways,
After all tomorrow is another day.
