Happy birthday to myself by Ann Wood

So another leaf has fallen from the calendar, and I'm getting another year older.
I was born forty-eight years ago today.
Forty-eight years filled with all kinds of ups and downs.
Today I become a year wiser and more beautiful in my own way.
Today I want to thank my mother for giving birth and raising me, to my father for creating me and watching over me from heaven, to God for protecting me and protecting me from evil people and thoughts, to my family for being by my side even though that we are far from each other, that my friends know who they are, that they are always there for me when I need them, and that that even though they are my enemies, they think of me.
Happy birthday to me, may I be alive and healthy, may love, happiness, joy, luck, success, prosperity be my eternal companion in life, and may all my dreams come true one day.
Today the birds will sing their love song in my honor, and the wind will dance a waltz in my hair; the flowers in the gardens will bloom because of me and the sun will shine brighter than ever.
Today the sea will be azure and the waves will rock the fishing boats in it, the moon will rise and tell its tale to the stars covering the blue sky.
Today everyone will wish me a happy birthday Ann, but I will be happiest when you wish it to me my dear friend, wherever you are.
Today, raise glasses full of mulled wine and drink to my health, cheers and many years to come.
Today I will not be sad nor angry, today I will smile at life and the world.
Today I am asking everyone to say no to war and to love each other, this will be my greatest gift from you dear people.
May I be happy, blessed and above all healthy, may God grant me a long life so that I can rejoice and bestow my love on you, amen.
Happy birthday to me and everyone born today.
