Alone

We have no true friends
We wait dependant
Hoping to much
And our friends are weak,
The compromise too small.
We have no friends in this world .
When nothing left is for gain
Then comes the terrible pain
And support we find
Has up and flown
Before our friendship has full grown.

In the crises
No one really listens
Unless a benefit risen
And a jewel glistens .
But to grow we must
And soon tis only ourselves to trust
When no one answers in the dark of night
Over my back I throw my plight
And into the shelter of my soul
Take my flight,
And no man shall benefit from my sorrow
Or my joy
Unless it be of selfless love
That seeks no selfish gain
It’s all in vain
Alone tis sweeter
More trustful to mine self
To suffer solitudes pain .
