Not Too Soon
Go not too soon
Allow for morning to swoon
For midday to sway in a hypnotic way
For someone who may, wondering stay
Until the late afternoon,
In shadowy sidestreets and cafe bars
Where stray thoughts smoke rings smoke candy cigars
And angel winged headlines boast advertisements adroitly
Come gathering groups of goodliness besides conjointly
Perhaps ocean shores with mutterings of waves
Shall wash out the mores of buildings and caves
For someone who may, wondering stay
For midday to sway in a hypnotic way
Until the late afternoon
Allow for morning to swoon
Go not too soon . . .
