Where Prayer Has Been Valid
Pandemic has changed everything,
but hasn't abolished the need for liturgies
in actual real-time sacral spaces.
Zoom has revolutionised the world ---
but can it replace, I venture to ask,
the smell of waxen candles in a shrine?
Shelters of rhythm and ritual
where as Eliot says prayer has been valid:
they will be needful, always, at least to me ---
to a few others, perhaps to more than a few.
