Dunkin'

sluggish bustle
of the coffee-shop
on a Sunday morning
before the sun comes up

radio blaring '80s tunes
brighter than the lights
above the counter

sleepy traffic
stirs and circles
in & out of the parking lot

checking social media
at this early hour
where are my australians

The Pet Shop Boys
Eric Carmen
Billy Ocean

popstars in mothballs

the donutista
whose dulcet voice
could set off a landmine

where are my earplugs

A great observational poem, this. I just love the last four lines, they are themselves the ultimate giveaway to the true feeling of the protagonist. In such circumstances it would be too early in the morning for my humor to remain in eqiulibrium when confronted with such a donutista! (Oh I love that word!)
Blessings and love, Allen

Charming. I like how you distil modern living into bite sized pieces of verse.
