Never Trust Your Fingertips!
Hair strands
gnaw their way
in united despair
The song of the fingernails
howls
in frequencies so high
that they're inaudible
without ultrasonic bat detectors
Toe nails emit infrasound
well below human hearing
The creaking of knees
imitates old, sturdy pines being felled by a storm;
breaths through windpipes the storm
Thoughts
- like echoes of heavy artillery -
excite the flesh into madness
and futile self-examination
Never trust your fingertips!
(The years repeat their lies,
seasonally,
fall away)
