wrote this to go with my pomegranate drawing.

messy eater

what walls you've built, how bitter
but narrow fingers probe and pull -
your gleaming arils free
when it comes to you, I'm greedy

when I sink my teeth in deep
juice pours past my lips and down my chin
these days, more animal than man
I reap - what I sow, all crimson grinned

to be known is to be tasted,
to exist is to consume
you become my shadow
with every bite, there is less of you

This is a very interesting poem, which I only fully understood when I knew that you had drawn the accompanying image. Then it made absolute sense. I like it a lot. Bravo! Blessings, Allen
