A Silent Verse
Words go out into the silent verse
Returned for paper promises
The evening light falls like silver
Raindrops of nothingness
Of nothing less than an ideal
Motions of selfless sacrifice feigned
Idle notions stolen borrowed
Wasted altars over which
Something plays the bait and switch
And the .through. is seldom followed
In hidden cells, speeches to rehearse
Words go out into the silent verse.
