Maintenance-

is a kind of devotion that stores insight-made
WD-40 and knows when to use it. It never lets
the bedroom littered with cacophony
of shattered dreams
and the drawing room
clogged with yesterday's rancid gossips
or any smell of shame or of long ago
and ever
keeps in mind to set right
the heart of the family clock, make it
run fast or slow, plant a bulb, regulate
the pet dog's heat with injections
and knows which way money
goes. It never fails to keep an eye on
what time and weather
are doing
to what home have I -an exile, save
this leaking body that needs constant
gloss and grouting
and insulation of my pent up wiring.
Silent is its service as silently it goes to bed
late and last
indifferent to thanks
but first to rise as if dawn itself.

I liked this, how you've used the idea of the lubricant to stand for the one who maintains the family - or so it seemed to me.
