The ventilation is a soothing prerequisite

of life

A timber truck out there up the gravel road

towards the Norbäck homestead

adds to the day's composition

while the kittens Cesi & Silver

bounce about downstairs between meals and naps,

sounding like a pair of frantic warehouse employees

throwing parcels around at Amazon, Seattle

and a helicopter draws a straight line through my skull

across the perfect circle of the sweeping horizon,

as I lie upstairs in the Great Ship of Dreams

like an open jack knife

under the ceiling,

gearing up for 21st August,

the day in my face

like the rich man's butler;

a day three in my cyclic summer exercise routine:
bike-bike-roller skis; today the AB set-up;

ski marked A left, next time right (the BA set-up!)

to ensure even, symmetric wear

I exercise like a committed 30-year-old

on my way between 75 to 76,

surprising myself if I think of it,

though it otherwise just appears natural

and obvious

Little obstacles kick in,

but wear off soon enough,

and the endorphin of exertion

provides inspirational literate energy,

jittery poetic ingenuity

and a wholesome way of life

If the unsolicited wizard on Connaught Circle

in New Dehli in 1972,

with his prediction ”82” had it right,

I'll depart in 2031,
