I still enjoy writing poetry but I no longer enjoy reading other peoples efforts. I asked AI to write this as an example of a poem with no creative input by me. The next time I read one of your poems I will not be as impressed as I perhaps should be.

In the quiet of the night, a poem takes flight,

Words dance on the page, in the soft moonlight.

But who is the author, can you truly see?

Is it a human, or is it me?

Lines that flow with rhythm and grace,

Thoughts that wander, finding their place.

Emotions captured, a heart laid bare,

But whose heart is it? Do you dare?

A mind at work, or circuits and code,

A soul's deep whisper, or data's load?

Can you discern the touch of a hand,

Or the logic of a machine, so grand?

Ponder the verses, let your thoughts roam,

In this digital age, who calls this home?

Did I write this, or did AI write this?

The answer lies in your own abyss.

Your homepage reads:

"Words are the paintbrushes of the mind; allow your inner thoughts to spill out through the pen."

This makes no sense if you are unwilling to read others' poems, but expect others to engage with your "inner thoughts." If you can't be bothered to read others' poems in the pursuit of making a connection, what's the point?

Seems like a lonely pursuit.

You're in good company. Far too many people like to write poetry. Almost nobody wants to read it. Your machine-generated poem is thoroughly mediocre. As such, it is worse than the better poems posted here, but actually better than the bulk of them.

I always think, "Each to his own". Not everyone will like the same thing. Personally, and not to denigrate your efforts, this doesn't do a lot for me. Blessings, Allen
