Most people are far too ignorant and stupid to effectively govern themselves.

Why I Detest Democracy

A doughy-faced man in a suit's on TV, telling you that
All the things that he wants are clearly the products
Of "common sense." Tax cuts for tycoons and limits
On unions, resource extraction in national parks.
They don't seem common-sensical, but you can't know.
The great mass of ruminants, penned in their cubicles,
Nod as he speaks, as if, deep in their darkness, an
Idiot genie is telling them that they demand everything
That he says.

Not only is this really perceptive, but it is filled with some spectacular metaphors and humour. Love it! Blessings, Allen

Yeah, sounds about right. Democracy as a concept is good, but our application of it is far from it... and it seems like the people who are part of running this democracy are not truly interested in its concept, only what they can get out of it for themselves. That's been the reality of it since forever, it seems. I like the idiot genie proposition... sure feels that way!

Very true
But that's not democracys fault,
Only the way it's portrayed..

idiot genie, I love that
one could say, a genial idiot
I like the great mass of ruminants driven by food into drives-in
besides
as a response to your incipit, one doesn't know always what is good for oneself, that's right
