The UK Government has decided to release prisoners earlier than their sentences decreed to make more room for more "new" prisoners. At the same time this same Government has decided to cease the winter fuel relief payment to millions of retired pensione


Punishment to fit the crime...

And so it has now come to pass
That the jails are full to burst;
No room at the inn for convicts it seems,
Set them free lest we all be cursed!

A tariff that's less than half the time;
Handed down by the noble Judge
Is more than enough to ease the load;
Who are you or I to grudge?

The cost of this measure unquantified,
To rehome, feed and clothe the throng;
Disregard the price of filling their void
How the hell could they get it so wrong?

So take the help our old folk get
To heat their homes in the Winters cold
They are the ones to be punished for sure
Their crime? Simply growing old.
