the day before the Big Bang

there would be no physics
if there were no universe...
so before the birth of the universe, before the big bang
how do you want to know what there was before with physics?

The superstitious among us will say, "God." Anyone with sense will say, "It's ridiculous to contemplate a time before time.". One day, even the astrophysicists will come to understand that The Big Bang says more about the limits of human intelligence (we can't process the notion of infinity) than the nature of the universe.
