sometimes we have to own up to ourselves first and then, to everyone else.
This secret I dared not share
For everyone that knows me
It would lay my heart out bare
In an all encompassed teenage life
Fitting in with the crowd is a must
So I told a lie that got me in
And gained so many of their trust
But older now if not wiser
That lie haunts me to this day
To hang my head in shame perhaps
But still the guilt won't go away
So now I lay the truth out there
In hope as I beg your pardon
I lied when I said I was a "Nirvana" fan
When in truth I preferred "Savage Garden".

Savage Secrets
It has eaten away since my childhoodThis secret I dared not share
For everyone that knows me
It would lay my heart out bare
In an all encompassed teenage life
Fitting in with the crowd is a must
So I told a lie that got me in
And gained so many of their trust
But older now if not wiser
That lie haunts me to this day
To hang my head in shame perhaps
But still the guilt won't go away
So now I lay the truth out there
In hope as I beg your pardon
I lied when I said I was a "Nirvana" fan
When in truth I preferred "Savage Garden".
