Lesson 54
To be in love is to practice kindnesscandidly, curtailing what cruelty
was once the ebb and flow of the red sea
that made up the contents of your heart. Yes,
loving makes the monster human, unless
the human tries hide the changes that be
their being now, and begins to try flee
back to the tepid comfort of the mess
their life once was, before goodness and love,
because hearts that know fear seldom let go,
choosing instead in silence to suffer,
but such is the bold, blinding beauty of
loving that in doing the act you bestow
kindness to yourself aside another.
