Are like feathery
rain, memories, that trickle downthrough your fingers, they are akin
to a beam of moonlight, opening
rays through the darkness of
your thoughts- memories
of days when life was young
and long, wishing them to last.
They are like stars
in day light that may be unseen
yet never go away but memories
of agony-struck moments, tears shed
that you wish they were away
could spread plague you through
your mind, stealing
away your peace of heart
but we must learn to bear
both effects, with equanimity. You can
close your eyes to reality
but not to memories.
