of thunder and fire

if we stretched out rumpled sheets

sunlight opalescent shades shape

there on an open square

each step without a care

a wan smile through thundrin' pain

unrolls each flash, a stumblin' stain

moonlight polishes over every scrape

if we had struck out in utter defeat
