Glasgow is the drugs capital of Europe but has decided to open a "Clinic" where addicts can take their poison whilst medically supervised. The law on possession of illegal drugs is still in force


Hope for Dope?

In a blaze of glory the tale is told
Of a medical innovation
Where self inflicted abuse is rife
The answer, a new creation

A place is provided to take your "fix"
All paraphernalia provided for free
Now it is legal for illegal acts
And it's all paid for by you and me

This city has a problem indeed
Europe's highest death-rate by drugs
So now you can "shoot up" while supervised
but still getting your supply from thugs*

The law is quite clear, it's a criminal act
And nothing in that has changed
So how do you get those drugs to that place?
Perhaps some blindfolds can be arranged (for the supposed Law Enforcers)


* There will be no provision of drugs by the Authorities and addicts will be required to provide their own illegally gotten narcotics.

Lots of people become addicted to drugs. Isn't it in society's best interest to keep them alive, and help them to get better? Or should we be judgemental, let them die, and deal with the consequences of their deaths?
