My partner and I decided we would set aside some time per week to do those things we enjoyed most before being "responsible adults" took over. It works for us :-)

Sometimes the effort is worth it...

When was the last time you dipped your toes
As you sat on the River bank
Letting your mind wander over the fields
To the woodland where the trees stood in rank

When was the last time you played a game
For the simple pleasure it brought
Applauding the skills of those others
Even if you won, or not

And can you honestly remember
The last time when you just sat and dreamed
No worries crept in to spoil the moment
All was good in the world, it seemed

Can you remember to find the time
If not now perhaps later in your day
To give yourself that breathing space
And relax in your own relaxing way

Nice! My wife and I do our stuff in between "adulting" (is that the term these days for being responsible grown ups?) In fact tomorrow we shall have a day out away from it all. We all have to make it work for us. More power to you and your partner!
