A truth
It doesn't happenpretty much often
or in any case at all
that i will sit up and take note
of something being said
right before me
and not through a cinema screen
or through the pages of a book in my hand
or someone reading the paras to me
It doesn't happen
pretty much often
that i outline
the shape of the face
in space and feel the body
occupy space
and not miss it in one way
but long for it in another.
In a way that do you feel
that too but i know
its not possible for i do not
have that presence as yet
as i am just one of the many
and it would take a lot
of doing on my part
for you to sit up and take note
of really who I am.
I know you feel my love,
whose flow from an undiscovered
source is as surprising for me
but might not be for you
as possibly you are used to it.
But its not the attention-
let me say this
for it continues in space and time
and its not completely you
for there is me who lives it
for real and has created this reality
for herself, may be.
But i am getting to understand love
through you
that how important it is to let it flow
onto people who are not born through me
or onto those who have not birthed me
or to those who live ordinary lives around me
not doing anything for me per se
other than being repositories of my love
and of respite to me
when i know
that flowing into the sea
is a far away possibility.
