How do experts determine that a work was created by a specific artist? Could AI replace these experts? It's a paradox because AI is plagiarism

copyright in AI

With the loss and mixing of sources, perhaps legislation will emerge regarding products created by AI, enabling them to be traced much like how meat carcasses are tracked in slaughterhouses.
For example: an image is created by AI, it is dated and registered.
There needs to be a cataloging of images, including those dating back to before the creation of AI, and software developed to analyze whether an AI-generated image could have been synthesized from previously dated and known images.
But then again, I’m just saying this—I’m not claiming anything definitive.
When an image is created, it should be dated and logged in a database where similar images (copyrighted or otherwise) can be identified.

Art by AI cannot be copyrighted. I think you are right in saying it all stems back from original and possibly copyrighted images. The problem is how to police and enforce it. If in fact we do what you suppose and use AI to police AI, that will indeed be a strange turn of events.
