infinity

When I count without stopping, I use the concept of infinity.
When I count to three, etc.,
at three, I occupy position two,
at four, I occupy position three,
and so on, up to infinity...
So, I am always one unit away from infinity.
Infinity contained within a brain that doesn’t create additional brain matter to count further...

I like this poem very much. The use of the sense of never being at the end with the metaphor of counting numbers makes the author's concept clear to the reader. The last line jarred with me since I know that the brain does in fact create new neurons: But in a way that only strengthens the idea of this poem, since there is no empirical end to the brain either. Bravo!
Blessings, Allen
