Birthdays Are A Habit
Birthdays are a habit. The only way to overcome this habit is death
I think I will keep this habit.
This birthday habit causes aging:
wrinkles, sagging, creaking, squeaking
for some it causes leaking.
But I feel I might just be peaking.
At least I can still go on speaking,
but my mouth may need some tweaking
for now I will say anything!
There are some very wonderful things about this birthday habit.
People give you stuff, take you places (as long as they don't leave you).
Give you cards, treate you to lunch and then a Johnny Depp movie. (I love that last part)
But, I have to say, I was given a poem by a very talented poet here on poetbay. What a thrill it was to see what she had done for this silly woman who just has this habit of having birthdays. Thanks a million again and again KJC! Oh and now another by the one who calls me mom! My sweet Haseen. Thank you my darling daughter. As usual, your loving kisses blow across my cheeks from thousands of miles away.
I have the privilege of being associated with some of the best, most talented, tender, loving, caring people in the world here on this PoetBay.
Thanks to all of you who take the time to read my stuff and comment. Your time is valuable and I am blessed to have you share it with me.
With Loving Regards,
kathy
