In a parallel universe Kate calls Joan 2 months earlier and after a long conversation Joan offers Kate a place to live untill she finds a better a place and convince her to go to the police, Kate's company helps Joan return to life....

They are no good, they only causes the troubles to get bigger or unspoken...
I think it's the pride inside us that force us to say I'm fine when we arent, because we want to be and look so strong and happy, but come on, who are we fooling, we are only lying and fooling ourselves...
So BLINDFOLDERS OFF NOW!!!

fear of worrying and bringing feelings of helplessness to loved ones are mainly my reasons for not saying anything right out - not wanting to be a burden with my stuff... aside the fact i feel completely stupid... so i guess that's the pride part that's been mentioned in previous comments... but i think you're right... letting each other know how we are really would greatly help to eliminate or soften the many situations which could be avoided - though i feel that, still find it difficult to do... a very good text night... as always you bring up good topics that touch us all whether personally or through others around us going through stuff... i like the "façade" answers juxtaposed with the "silent true" answers... put me in a context i could recognize.. and presenting them this way was effective to create impact of reality... you got my thoughts going again ;)... this is great... thanks for sharing :f

A lot of Wisdom and truth in this piece, are blindfolds usually consist of us being self consumed with our problems I'm guilty of this myself.
