in July 2005 the rains played a real havoc in Bombay. I had read a lot of romantic stuff regarding the rains. But that day in July my house was flooded upto a feet & a half. The whole of Bombay was marooned. That knocked the wind out of any romantic ideas

The Rainmaker's Rain Dance

The rains have come, the rains have come,
It's raining cats & dogs,
Oh no! its foxes & wolves,
These rains & all mayhem,
Trains stop & the traffic snarls,
The streets are one roaring sea.

Bombay is drowning, Bombay is drowning,
They say that the rainmaker sits there on the top
Just from where the rains are pouring,
Does he know that he's drowning us.
Or he just loves the havoc he plays.

Someone said the rains are romantic,
Come to Bombay & say that buddy.
The gutters swell eating up the shanties,
Forcefully sweeping them to the seas,
With their precious life & belongings.

Oh Rainmaker & your Raindance,
Bombay is drowning, Bombay is drowning.
