Freedom's Prisoner
Prisoner of freedomHow can that be
Held by all that's given to me
Choices to make
Reaping from mistakes
Feeling the clutches of responsibility
Freedom's song
That's sung throughout time
Brings it's own baggage
That often doesn't rhyme
However, oh, the alternative is darker
And so confining
No room for movement
No time for refining
Options lie in freedom's release
Bringing torment to some
And to others peace
The choices are ours to make
And to take
Leaving the door open for
Another mistake
Deal with it
Accept it
Turn it upside down
Own your freedom
Smile or frown
It belongs to you and to you alone
It is your personal test
Just do your best like all the rest
And live in the freedom
That's you.
