make sense of it, if you can.

Ramblings At Midnight

pitter patter
spitter spatter
little rapscallion
scuttle across the floor
heading for the door
out and in,
start and end
the beginning of
the lore
of timely things
teeny things
that rattle
and tattle
doing battle
with spiders and
their webs
charolettes
and muffets
sitting on tuffets
eating
green eggs and ham
while the world
doesn't give a damn
about mini things
that often sing
songs of old ladies and
their shoes
what is one to do
with Nursery Rhymes
in hellacious times
of killing and murder too?

Wow! What an awesome piece you have going on here!!!..The little and more meaningful things of life always seem to be missed, especially in today's world... love it!!!

Well, Kathy there you are again, simplicity with a strong meaning behind it. Seems those particulars simple things will get missed while the things that go on today do.

This "Rambling" as you put in shows you're in a class by yourself...

Tremendous Write!!!

my favorite children's author, dr. seuss, wrote a limerick story about sneetches with stars... you see the sneetches hated the sneetches without stars, i mean, stars were better, but they were wrong, i mean, stars are stars but friends are everything... anyway, they tried to change to impress the star-ed sneetches, but it didn't work. you see, changing for those who hate you gives no one satisfaction, but the satisfaction and victory of overcoming an obstacle like hatred (which the sneetches found out) is insurmountable...

that is what we do with nursery rhymes nowadays, we imprint the young to love and think beyond the mistakes we've all made time and time again.

wondrous thought provoking poem, Kathy,
