I've lost my Aunt Donna today, but I and my family, will never lose or forget her spirit. My tribute to you, Aunt Donna

Were you close?

We lost someone today,
A piece to the family that was so strong to all of us,
She had and showed no fear,
Even when we were afraid for her,
Even when we cried for her,
Even when we prayed for her,

Big Bro asked me if "We were close?",
And a lifelong question that always worried me,
Became the easiest thing to answer,
And here it is, "Our hearts were close",
We are and always will be a family,
No matter how far away we go,
No matter how long we stay away,
I can reach you in heart and in my soul,
And no one can ever take that away,

We might be different people now,
But deep inside, we are the same children,
That ran up and down those blocks,
That you've watched grow up in those parties,
In those cook-outs,
And that will never change, and so won't we,

There is peace now in your eyes,
I know that without being told,
I just hope that Robby's there, waiting for you,
And now that this blame is irrelevant,
I ask the question, "Are we close",
And my answer is,
As long as my heart beats, as long as my soul lives,
And as long as forever is real,
We are close, no matter where or who we are,

The dancer moves without a trace,

you expressed your feelings here for losing a drea-one differently . I did enjoy reading it and i loved most these lines that i wish ppl do realize:

No matter how long we stay away,
I can reach you in heart and in my soul,
And no one can ever take that away
