Inspired to write this by what i see happens in the place i work with my my own eyes, i have expereinced such emotions.
They may kick me
They can hang me or tie me to a tree
But I shall not be moved with pride I stand
My dignity they can never take
They can take my house
They can take my car and all my worldly possessions
But I shall not be moved with courage I stand
My soul they cannot take away
The slander, the abuse they hurl at me
The daily blame I do endure
If nothing goes well it is all my fault
They cut my pay, they rip me off
But I shall not be moved, with strength I stand
My wisdom they will never have
Is it my face?
Is it my eyes?
Is it my skin or is it my attitude - They hate
Is it the way I tell them straight -
A pack of morons they are
But I shall not be moved justice I will seek
My righteousness they can never take
Is it myself that bothers them
My tongue so sharp, too strong for them
My personality they cannot handle
Am I a sore to their eyes?
I do not care,
For they bother me not
And I shall not be moved, with respect I stand
Outspoken I am, that will not change
I know they need me
Cannot do without me
The work is hard, They cannot bear
The expertise I have to tolerate
Can communicate, and too literate
No matter what they do
Still I shall not be moved, strong and tall I stand
My knowledge they will never take
Yes no matter what they do
Proud and happy I am.
