Victory In Truth
She was fighting a battle again today,the demons were not new
She had known them more than thirty years
And yes, they knew her too
They knew her heart was tender
They knew her spirit was raw
They knew that they could bend her
They knew their lies were law
She fought today as she always did
with little hope and will
She only wanted to make it through
until they'd had their fill
Their fill of her uncertainty
Their fill of accusation
Their fill of her bowed downess
Their fill of her obligation
But today she found a new strength
Today she found her voice
Today she found she had worth
Today she made a choice
She chose to open her eyes
She chose to unlatch her heart
She chose to clear out her mind
She chose to make a new start
No longer a slave to lies of demeaning
She saw herself as she should
She saw herself through God's eyes
And she knew what she needed to do, she could
