Painted Wings

He lost his innocence
He cannot buy it back
A brief moment in his life
That he will always lack

He has come out different
Marked by all these things
He will now and always be
The Angel with painted wings

Angel with painted wings! what a beautiful, imaged filled, phrase. He is different from the rest, but he is still an Angel!

Oftentimes, in our mad rush to decisions without thinking through it, we jump into things that we regret in time to come. This poem paint a picture that is unforgettable.
It means so many things to so many people. I admire your courage and the way you penned it down. Bravo

at least his painted wings mark the moment he lost the innocence . that moment , how can it lack? shouldn't that moment be more engraved in him than any other moment?
A thought provoking poem , I liked it a lot .

I love this poem! I don't know what inspired it, but it spoke clearly to me about tatoos! It should be read to everyone considering one. No offense to anyone who has them. My daughter has several, as does my soon to be son-in-law and a nephew. I just fear there will be a time of regret for many who get them without thinking through their decision.
