Looking At A Blank Page
There it is white like alwayslooking at me with nothing to inspire
if it would only blink
it might prompt me to think
It sits there boldly before me
so self assured, it has nothing to prove
There are no issues in its head
It couldn't care less if its read
I've lobbied it, tried anger
and even given it a pep talk
There's times I've even given it a hug
still, I feel so unplugged
I look at it with one eye
then switch over to the other
I think I need new glasses
that right eye's as slow as molasses
Still the issue at hand is
This dang blank page in my face
My fingers wait to press a key
I just need a thought to set them free
But, there you are smug, square, white, hard thing
it's like trying to get answers from and answering machine
