A nice evangelical hymn for you to sing along to in the bath. I am particularly proud of the last couplet's rhyme!

Hammered On The Good Old Cross!

Teach me dearest Lord and God, to know your holy sacred way,
And to know the pain you suffered on that sad Easter day,
When you got hammered up on the cross in olde ancient Israel
As your Daddy told you, to stop us all from going to deepest Hell.

Jesus carried his own fatal cross on that black Friday
And he even stumbled on a pavement stone a few times on the sacred way
But no cries of pain or resentment did our saviour-hero blurt
He was saving them up for the crucifixion as that he knew would really hurt.

Our lovely saviour's body was nailed up and got badly bruised
And the Jews called him awful names and he was really sore abused
And they laughed at him and mocked him too an awful lot
Saying that he was no good and deserved what he had got.

So please teach me O sweetest death-defying Lord to comprehend
That your death was actually for all believers a really great godsend
And that your ordeal on the hill of that Palestinian Calvary
Was not in vain as you died for everyone including you 'n' me.

And now I know that when others cruelly laugh and mock at me
Because I sing of the wonderful long-ago miracle of olde Calvary
They will all perish in flames and agony in darkest Hades
And I shall be a fulltime winner in trumps like the ace of Spades.

Your 'style' contrdicts and belittles Christianity - You should be ashamed.

I use 'Style' in the loosest sense of the word.
