Dedicated to my mother, a strong beautiful woman who had the most wonderful heart. The compassion to one all alike. But mostly her strength and determination to go on even during the worst troubled times, who supported the family when my father was ill an
You gave up your youth to give me life
You gave up your freedom taking care of me
You held me to your breasts and your blood I had
You nursed me with love, kept me warm
Through the cold dark nights
Where I curled up to you
You mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
When thunder did roll and scared I did get
You calmed my fears and comfort you gave
You helped me walk and then to talk
The first ever words was "Mama" to me
Holding my hands and guiding me on
You mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
You were always there when sick I was
The attention you gave, neglecting yourself
Caressing, whispering sweet words of love
The fuss I make, the tantrums I show
No anger you show, but love you gave
You mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
Stronger I got as days passed by
Bigger I got as years passed by
You are still at my side pushing me on
With love and care taking the burden
To provide for family the needs we want
You mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
You were there for me as I grew along
Never alone you made feel
When I was high you shared my joy
When I was low you calmed my sorrow
When a success I became
How proud you were
Kissing and cooing praises on me.
You mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
My education you gave, now a woman I am
Stead fast on my feet, you made sure of that
Then to support you all a chance I got
Gladly I will do so anytime again
What I have given was done with love
For you my Mama I will lay down my life
You sweet mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
Then you got weak and with cancer struck
That was the day my world stood still
You were strong and smiling you were
Never did grumble, not a complain you made
What pain you endured silently
How I wept when I looked in your face
That beautiful face I will never forget.
You beautiful mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
On that sick bed seated, fragile and small
Talking to me,
Telling me sweetly stronger be.
Life is short and we must all go along
When the Master calls nothing can be done
Just heed his call, and walk on home
Towards his light, he brings to your door.
Oh wonderful mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt toyou
Its years now Mama you gone away
To that beautiful home, the master promised
You are happy I know bear no pain any more
You are beautiful Mama, I am sure of that
Is that the reason, you were chosen so soon
Generous mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
It's alright Mama I am fine now
I have dealt with trouble, trauma and pain
Then you were there to guide me on
I am stronger Mama, like you have asked me to be
Your strength you gave me, your pride I hold
The wisdom you passed on has stayed on me
Those great qualities, you gave me Mama
Now tall and strong I stand for all to see
You are proud of me Mama I know that too
I am so proud your daughter to be
I am so proud my Mama you are
Oh great mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
I thank you Mama for being with me
Right along my troubled youth
I thank you Mama for your guidance so great
I thank you Mama for teaching me
To love and care for everybody
I thank you Mama for all your Love
Oh lovely mother, mother of mine
I am still in debt to you
Is everyone alright in that paradise?
Is Dada alright, I love him too
I miss his presence, but he needed you
I know you are together and how happy you must be.
Please do hold a place for me there too.
I am coming home very soon you know
Then together in that paradise we shall be.
I love you Mama, darling mother of mine
Forever in debt to you I will be.
