The Symphony of Autumn Leaves (They know they fall to die)

Nature has changed her summer gown,
The autumn rain drips from the sky,
And leaves unwillingly fall down,
Because they know - they fall to die.

They slowly float in the air,
Orange and brown, red and gold,
And falling down here and there
They create beauty to behold.

They softly lay down on the ground,
They fly along the city's street.
They cover all you see around,
And die under a human's feet.

And they would like to stop time flow
To freeze forever on the spot...
But they'll be buried under snow,
Snow which with Winter will be brought.

We look at them and sadly smile,
But can't explain the reason why.
And autumn leaves still for a while
Dance their last dance before they'll die.

Beautiful piece..Autumn is my favourite time of year...this made me smell the crispness of the weather, as well as burnt leaves--I love that smell. Very excellent write!

Hi Kostiya, what a lovely come back poem.
Any one who has been to Russia, can not but appreciate the sheer beauty of Autumn leaves... The famous Russian Maples!
Even a passimist like you has come up with such an upbeat poem!
I am reminded of my own 'Autumn Leaves'- have you read it? Well, check it out.

Welcome back Dorogoi!

(((hugs)))

Love,
Zoya
