Daft Rose
You're a daft rose,
ridiculously naïve
but so charmingly lost.
Out of place,
the concept fades away
like my last breath
on the wall of glass
between us.
You're a daft rose
and I'm the cunning knife;
if I cut you free from ignorance
I will watch you wither sooner.
You're a child
with laughter in your eyes
and ice-cream on your chin;
I'm so afraid I'll cease to love you
if I wipe away your flaws.
