Projection Protection

Don't let your movie play upon my screen.
I don't need your personal pettiness
marring my psychological scene.

Take your projector.
Take your protector
away from my head.
Your life is not mine.
Instead,
you should watch your own show.
Or, didn't you know
about
projection?
Do you feel
rejection?
Judgments,
labels
sit a bountiful table
of poisonous, putrid trash.
Oh,
how you love to bash!
Point you finger with flash
and hellfire.
Your words are bitter
and full of ire.
That finger of yours points
in the wrong direction.
You are not sweet confection.
Are you feeling some connection
to the hate that you spew?
It is not I.
It is you!

Don't let your movie play upon my screen.
Take care of your own personal hygiene.
Your haughtiness makes me want to scream.

Oh, there goes your projector beam.

Lets see... my list of people to send this to just keeps growing! This should make each of us question if at some time or other we should be on the receiving end of such a gallant dressing down. I tend to believe most of us do some projections for our own protection but refuse to recognise it. Sad, for us and those we use as our screens.
This is just so good.

Omigod. I know someone I would love to send this poem too, but she can't take the truth right now. This resonates with me. Your poetry is powerful.
