A Gun At His Head

A gun at his head,
a pen in his hand,
with which he writes words
that bring tears to the land

Sat in that car,
on that fateful day
the sadness that filled him
was what lead him astray

The news she had told him
of her love not for he,
was what drove him to the madness
That news was the key

Pushed him over the edge,
did the sad words of she,
she was getting engaged,
to a man who was not he

The fateful note and the words it read,
That he no longer wished to stay alive.
"mum and dad, its not your fault.
11:45"

And into the drive his parents arrived,
at 11:52,
seven minutes to late,
the irony almost killed them too.

Now you may think,
how did she imagine this tale,
well the answer i give you is true,

I did not imagine it, it happened for real,
to a person just like me and you.

The poem is a story that was in "Chicken Soup For The Teenage Soul." That book is my bible.

so sad. so true. sometimes we have to take life one minute at a time and it's impossible to see the big picture.
