Persistence wins the day.

Hello World!

Hello World!
The new fly says, to buzz in
the window and curtsy across
the ceiling.
Landing on the counter,
smacked and squished to bits.

Hello World!
The new dandelion says, to
toss in the summer breeze.
Face upturned to be kissed by
the sun.

Growing taller amongst the grass,
to be whacked down to
nothingness.

Hello World!
The new mouse says, to raid the
cupboards.
Leaving little brownies in the drawers.

Discovering interesting green
pellets.
To be extinguished in a calamitous
manner.

Hello World!
The new dust ball says, to float
under the bed.
To coast across the linoleum.

Searching for other bunnies to
join in its dance.
Its end comes, sucked up in a
whirlwind.

Is it not apparent that life can
sometimes hand over such
wretched grief?

Wait!
New flies still emerge to annoy.
Even though the swatter
eventually comes.

New dandelions still pop up.
Causing havoc on the nice
green.

Even though they eventually
come tumbling down.

New mice still scamper to live
out a thieving existence.
Even though they eventually
meet a poisonous end.

New dust balls still cause
sneezing headaches.
Even though they eventually
will be sputtered in a whirling
engine.

If life sometimes tosses you
on your face.
Remember these examples.
Be persistent and win the day.
