I used to sing this to my forst born (who is now nine years old!!

Bonnet

Running your fingers through the dust on the bonnet
You write, "I love you " under your sweet hearts name
In the dirt you've claimed forever exists
Well rain gonna come wash away the words

You drive for miles but still feel at home
So the names of the streets don't mean a thing
And every things familiar like it says on the map
Miles on the dial just won't ease the pain

Words by gills

This is a wonderful lyrical poem. Does your child now sing it with you? Oh, to have audio on this site. Then we could hear you sing it. : )
