A Love Song
Drawn curtains of my roomdanced in the swift breeze.
They hummed an unheard song.
Slanting rays of the sun entered my
room uninvited
through the chink between
the curtain and the window ledge.
Freshly bloomed flowers
in the garden mumbled something
in their hushed voice.
Miss red petalled dream
shifted into the inner parlor
of my eyes.
The shawl of moonlight
wrapped me into her cool embrace.
I knew I heard
the cry of my love.
The color of my wait
had not faded yet.
I believed
the mountain air
would bring
her smile to me.
