Penelope Wants To Be A Bird. (Liz's cliche challenge)
"Penelope wants to be a bird,"Hessy Hen clucked the word
All along the barnyard grass
From Gaither Goat to Aesop Ass.
She gossiped about the pining pig
Spreading the manure awfully big.
On and on she went until at last,
Penelope, starved from her latest fast,
Was trim and slim and ready to soar.
She ran from her brother that awful boar.
Through the cornfield and across the stream,
Penelope raced into her ultimate dream.
She raised her hooves above her head,
"I'll be back," was all she said.
The farm was all a feathery flutter
And Hessy Hen began to stutter
For up into that porcine sky
Little Penelope went flying by
Holding a banner between her teeth
That held these words for those beneath:
Stop your squealing, I told you I'd try
For now is the time When Pigs Fly!
