The word periwinkle has been knocking on my imagination's door. Today I let it in. Welcome periwinkle. Come join me and my friends here on the bay.

Happiness Street Ditty

Periwinkles purple, yellow, pink
twrill beneath my ballerina feet
sending love among the stars
in the view of Venus and Mars
Prance a dance without puppet strings
bluebells tolling love songs ring
music sings throughout wonderous skies
chorus of angels bringing sunshine smiles
radiant days, the lifting haze, walking
in a field of golden maze
Red birds flutter, butterflies utter
bees never stutter
buzzing blankets of warm honey
mixed with heart giggles soft and funny
Its a day of skies clear and sunny
Travel with me along Happiness Street
There's a wealth of lovely people to meet.

Such fun! Cute and colorful, like kewpi doll curls! Dancing in circles like tail chasing squirrels! Hey, it's catching. Love this!

Funnily enough, I too write poems starting with a single word that catches my fancy... I just need the right moment, and it happens...
I think periwinkles are sweet little flowers, peeking out when I least expect them. Like the one time I ran out into a garden, fully intending to cry, and caught sight of periwinkles through my tears... Was an eye-opener, you bet!

Sunshine and rainbows,
Arti.
